Support our cause to bring music and joy to the children of Florida!
With my extensive experience in small business operations, opening and managing this non-profit will be very manageable.
I've been passionate about playing the piano since the age of 6 and currently offer local tunings and renovations, most of which are free to those in need.
We're launching a fundraiser on GoFundMe to collect free pianos, renovate them, and customize them with beloved Disney characters and other themes.
Our mission is to deliver these beautifully restored pianos to schools and kids across Florida, inspiring creativity and fostering a love for music.
Your donation will cover the costs of setting up a workshop, picking up free pianos, moving renovated pianos, repairing any damages, and adding stunning artwork to each piano.
Join us in making a difference through music – every contribution helps!
We operate as a non-profit organization, ensuring that every dollar goes directly towards our cause. Let's create harmonious melodies and magical moments for the children of Florida together!
With a budget of $25,000, our fundraising efforts will still significantly impact bringing music and joy to the children of Florida. Here's our revised allocation breakdown:
$6,000 towards setting up a workshop | $500/Month for 1 year to start
$4,000 for acquiring more pianos and transportation | Transportation of the pianos from donors and to new owners.
$8,000 for renovating these pianos | The material cost to repair the pianos as an average. Labor time will be donated.
$4,000 for adding stunning artwork and customization | We may find some to donate their time, we are open to submissions!
Additionally, we will allocate $2,500 towards selling and marketing some pianos to sustain our operations, ensuring long-term viability. However, if this ends up not being needed as the potential for continuous piano donations is possible, this will go back into acquiring more pianos!
With each piano costing $500 in parts to repair, our renovation budget would cover the repair of approximately 16 pianos. I will personally donate my time to do all repairs on these pianos, and others are interested in donating their time as well.
Lastly, $3,500 will be set aside for miscellaneous expenses such as unforeseen costs.
Through these strategic allocations, we aim to maximize our impact and continue spreading the joy of music to schools and children across Florida.
My name is Nick, I am a 33 year old Piano Technician based in Florida, USA. I am originally from England, UK. I first found my passion for music, and more specifically the piano at the age of 5 whilst undergoing medical treatment for an extraordinarily rare genetic disorder of which only 5 children in the world had at the time. I was the only survivor of the 5 children as my genetic disorder was only partial, whereas theirs was a full mutation.
While in the hospital one of my favorite movies was Titanic. I was playing in the playroom one day and I came across a small 3 Octave toy piano. I thought I’d try and learn Titanic from what I remember the song sounding like when watching the movie. Within a week I was able to play the entire song with both hands, and I still play it to this day like I did when I was 5 years old.
From this was apparent I had a skill to listen to music and play those songs on the piano by ear. My mother saw this early on and made sure it was something I could pursue.
From the age of 9 when I finally was released from the hospital, to the age of 13 I completed all certifications from the Royal School of Music in Classical and Jazz piano. I stopped in my adult years as life got busy!
Recently I decided to start tuning pianos, and performing piano restorations in an attempt to rekindle my passion for music, of which has most definitely made an impact. So much so that it’s made me want to start this non profit in the hopes that we can inspire and maintain everyone’s passion for music, regardless if they can afford to or not!
